2: Brother, Titan; Sister, Mercy

Hero Fiennes-Tiffin has spent his life immersed in the film industry. He is the son of two film
directors, producers, and screenplay writers, George Tiffin and Martha Fiennes.
He has a brother, Titan, and a sister, Mercy, who appeared in the 2008 film, The Duchess. His
uncles are Joseph Fiennes, star of films such as Shakespeare in Love, Elizabeth, and Enemy at the
Gates, and Ralph Fiennes, who has portrayed the reincarnated Voldemort since the fourth movie.
However, his family history is not what landed him the role of the 11-year-old Voldemort in
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. In fact, for the producers of the film, the family resemblance
served as an added bonus.
Hero was recognized for his portrayal of the dodgy sidekick Spartak in the 2008 dark comedy,
Bigga than Ben, written and directed by Suzie Halewood and starring Caspian actor, Ben Barnes.
He also earned his role over thousands of other actors because of his “ability to find the darker
space in his line readings,” according to director David Yates.
Hero has received many accolades since the release of Half-Blood Prince. He has been called
focused and disciplined by those who worked on the film and wonderfully haunting by critics.
Through only a few scenes, Hero was able to give the audience the dark and odd essence of his
character and distinguish himself as a credible actor.

Sixteen year old Frank Dillane had only appeared in one other film when he received the role of
the teenage Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Frank is the son of Naomi Wirthner, an actress who has appeared in minor television roles, and
Stephen Dillane, a Tony award winning actor for The Real Thing who has also appeared in films
such as Goal, The Greatest Game Ever Played, and the HBO mini-series John Adams. He also starred
in the 1997 movie Welcome to Sarajevo, which also gave Frank Dillane his acting debut, playing
the son of his father’s character.
In 2009, he took on an assignment that his parents have yet to accomplish — Frank joined the
Harry Potter family. Following in the footsteps of Christian Coulson, Ralph Fiennes, and Hero
Fiennes-Tiffin, Frank became responsible for brining the character of Tom Riddle to life.
He was the only the second actor, however, to portray the series’ villain in his teenage years. He
only had to make one change for the producers before officially securing the role—he had to
wear blue contacts to cover his naturally brown eyes.
Frank may have already begun his career, but he still enjoys typical teenage activities. He enjoys
music, especially rock and alternative, and has taken an interest in many sports, basketball,
boxing, climbing, football, golf, ice skating, martial arts, roller skating, rugby, and
snowboarding to name a few.
In 2009, he graduated from Michael Hall School in East Sussex, England. Hopefully, this will
give him the time necessary to build on his already impressive resume and possibly follow in
his father’s path venturing into other artistic areas such as theater or television.
Christian Coulson was faced with the difficult task of being the first actor to portray the
character of Lord Voldemort. The assignment came after years of preparation and a commitment
to his craft.
When he was younger, Christian received an academic scholarship to Westminster School,
located in the precincts of Westminster Abbey in central London. At the same, he was a member
of UK’s National Youth Music Theater, remaining with the company from 1990 to 1997. Later on,
he attended Cambridge University, eventually receiving a first class degree in English at Clare
College.
He was a part of many theatrical productions during his time at Cambridge, most notably the
Emcee in Cabaret, Arturo Ui in The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, and Clare in The Maids. This helped
him develop the necessary skills for his career, which blossomed directly after his graduation.
His projects began to snowball and varied from work in television, films, short films, theater,
and audio drama. He even tried his hand at creating, writing the lyrics and book for a rock
musical called “The Fallen,” which was eventually performed at Bedford Modern School in 1998.
In 2002, he auditioned for the role of Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,
despite being 23 at an audition for the 15-17 year old age bracket. His talent won him that role,
probably his most well known to date.
Christian Coulson has said that he would love to reprise his role as Tom Riddle in a future
Harry Potter film. Unfortunately, when it came time to cast the young Voldemorts in Half-Blood
Prince, director David Yates believed that Coulson, who was 29 at the filming, was too old for
the teenage character. Still, he remains the actor responsible for setting the bar for all future
portrayals of the character.
